ProRobot : the Profesional Robot The flagship product of RobotSearch Software, ProRobot is a full-featured, 100% Java, platform and database independent Internet crawler. It runs as a multi-threaded process being capable of enabling multiple explorers simultaneously to take advantage of broadband Internet connections. As it’s little brother, the scaled-down PersonalRobot, it can explore and index multiple websites creating full-text indexes that can be used by search engines (including it’s own search-engine) to find information and effectively creating Portals. ProRobot supports the most popular search engines and databases, including Oracle Intermedia, MS Sql full-text indexed tables, MySQL, Fulcrum Search Server and MS Access. ProRobot is dynamically configured, fed and controlled via a web interface that runs on any J2SE or J2EE enabled web server, like Tomcat, Websphere, Sun ONE and other popular products. ProRobot comes with a set of examples of web-based search pages (JSP and ASP) that can be customized and used in any portal to enable searching the supported full-text indexes.
